The Ford Falcon is a full-size car which has been manufactured by Ford Australia since 1960. Each model from the XA series of 1972 onward has been designed, developed and built in Australia, following the phasing out of the American Falcon of 1960-71 which had been re-engineered locally for the harsher Australian conditions. As a result of the longevity of its Australian production, the Falcon is one of the biggest selling names in world automotive history, selling over 3,000,000 in six generations to 2003, almost exclusively in Australia and New Zealand.[1] As of July 2007, Ford sells upwards of 3,000 units per month.[2]
Ford has manufactured over three million units since 1960, and has topped the sales charts in Australia on many occasions. Currently the Falcon line-up is offered in sedan, station wagon, and utility body styles, however in the past panel vans and hardtops (coupes) were offered.[3] Australian made Ford Falcons and Holden Commodores dominate the ranks of taxis in Australia and New Zealand, and are also used as police patrol cars.
Luxury variants of the current model Falcon, collectively known as the G Series, are marketed as the Ford G6, G6E and G6E Turbo. Other Falcon based models developed by Ford Australia, but no longer in production, are the Ford Futura, Ford Fairmont and Ford Landau, as well as the long wheelbase Ford Fairlane and Ford LTD.
The new building’s entry takes one more very big step. Cai Guo-Qiang, the Chinese artist now living in New York, has installed his monumental 2004 sculpture “Inopportune: Stage One,” composed of nine white 1990s Ford Taurus sedans.
The cars, once the most popular American-made fleet automobile, rise and fall in an arc suspended from the 35-foot-high ceiling, as if careening through the city-block-long space. Flashing light-tubes explode from the tumbling vehicles, in silent fireworks patterns that illuminate the spectacular demolition derby.

Scissor-Slide Vertical Lambo Door kit is designed for a universal fit and easy installation. The kit works by opening the door a little to the side and swing it up. It swings up 90 degrees so you don’t have to crawl into the car, you simply open it, get in, and close it.

Since the day Henry Ford introduced the Model A, the world discovered a love affair with the open road. Until now, that open road has meant the mass consumption of fossil fuels.
The Ford Company recently rolled out a prototype truck that provides a reason for a whole new generation to rejoice. The Ford F-250 Super Chief is a prototype that takes the best of nostalgic design features and blends them with the world’s first Tri-Flex capabilities that allow drivers to utilize their fuel of choice.
Ford designers have introduced a new supercharged v-10 engine with a tri-flex fueling system that allows users to enjoy a choice of three different fuels including gasoline, E85 ethanol or hydrogen. Because the Super Chief offers these choices drivers have the comfort of knowing they can still find fuel as the ethanol and hydrogen infrastructures are developing. In a tri-flex fueling system owners can utilize any or all of these fueling options using the same engine and only the flip of a switch.
If any company can fine tune a suspension system, it would be Fox. Its list of sponsored drivers and race wins is numerous. Fox developed a front coilover and rear shock specifically built for the Raptor. Pushing a nearly 6,000-pound truck in the dirt isn’t an easy feat, which is why you see such oversized shocks on race trucks. Fox spent countless hours testing the new setup to achieve the perfect combination. We think Fox hit its goal.
Ford’s new F-150 SVT Raptor made an appearance in my driveway recently, and it created a bit of a stir. My tweenage daughters wouldn’t ride in it. My wife didn’t want any of her friends to catch her in the thing. They complained of the “kindergarten mess” graphics flanking the sides of it (an option, I told them) and compared it to a real-life sandbox toy (that part’s right.)
“Dad he is getting into it,” the boy said as he, his father and mother made other mouth noises that no one could hear as they stared at the 2010 Mustang GT Coupe Premium that I placed myself inside. Yes, I smiled smugly as I sat like a three time World Grand Prix champion behind the wheel.
Well, Jackie Stewart, one time the most successful Grand Prix driver of all times, showed me a lot of tricks at Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, California serveral years back. And how to get into a “motor car” was one of them.
It was all style as I moved the 4.6-liter OHC V8 engine muscle machine out of a tight parking space near Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. OK, so maybe the family was just admiring the “Grabber Blue” colored road warrior. But, when they heard the throaty power thunder down the street-I saw their eyes and mouth get wider out of the rear view mirror. Yeah, it’s fun to be king of the road.
The partial result of Ford’s $500 million investment in India, the Figo is larger than much of its competition, Ford says. With such practical elements as increased passenger and cargo capacity, as well as more flashy tech features that include Bluetooth and iPod connectivity, the Figo aims to become more than just basic personal transportation in a market where even that concept is a relatively new one. According to Ford, the automaker is seen as a premium automaker in India, commanding a small percentage of market share.
“When potential customers look at Figo, we want them to walk away surprised by what they see,” said Nigel Wark, executive director of marketing, sales, and service for Ford India. “For years, we’ve been seen as offering only premium-priced products in India, and that has kept us as a small player operating in only 20 percent of the market. With Figo, customers will see a premium product offered to the mainstream market at an affordable price. ”
Ford’s ideal target Figo customer base is comprised of young professionals who are starting their careers and a family. The Figo, Ford says, offers enough room to take five people out for dinner while also providing a status symbol with which the owner can flaunt success – all for a price that is lower than expected.
Produced in Ford India’s Chennai plant, the Figo will hit showrooms in India in three weeks.

Ford’s first mass-market electric vehicle isn’t a sexy sports car. It isn’t a sleek sedan. And it isn’t cool compact. It’s a van. A delivery van, to be exact, designed specifically for fleet use. It isn’t the sexiest way to break into the electric arena, but it’s a smart move for Ford and a logical place for EVs.
Ford rolled into San Francisco with one of the Transit Connect Electric vans that goes on sale at the end of the year. It isn’t much to look at — a big box on wheels with a definite European flair — but it offers 80 miles of range and charges in as little as six hours. Ford is offering it only its big fleet customers for now but opens the order book next year for anyone who wants one.
Ford says as many as one in four cars it builds in 2020 will be a hybrid or electric vehicle, and it’s rolling out an electric Focus next year. But it’s starting with a delivery van because fleets are a perfect market for EVs. The vehicles tend to follow set routes, so range isn’t an issue. They return to a centralized location, making recharging a snap. The up-front cost is higher, but the operating costs are lower.
