2011 Ford Fiesta Ecoboost

Ford is testing the new four-cylinder Ecoboost engine in the U.S. right now. The three door hatchback version has created quite a stir among car experts. Originally, Ford had decided against launching this particular body style here in the U.S. It seems now that Ford designers have finally understood how well cars with similar body configuration is doing in the U.S., mainly the Volkswagen GTI. Car enthusiasts are hoping for the 3 door version to be released in the country.

In the spy shots released, the car is spotted with a front-mount intercooler with piping on either side, which can be clearly seen from the lower portion of the car. A turbocharged engine seems to be under the hood of the new Fiesta. Other details include a set of dual exhaust tips, the sporty body kit and 17 inch alloy wheels. The wheels probably conceal a set of bigger brakes. Adding to this, the rockers are far more aggressive. A mondo roof spoiler and a pair of wide-set tailpipes in a revised rear fascia sit around in the back.

The new four cylinder Ecoboost engine in the new Fiesta features direct injection technology. The engine is probably based on the 1.6-liter four cylinder engine from the 2011 Ford Fiesta that delivers 119 hp, but with the help of Ecoboost technology it should deliver more to the 170 hp mark.

The new Ecoboost powered Ford Fiesta will probably debut at the end of the year, possibly in the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show in November. It is scheduled to hit the U.S. market in the spring of 2011.  Visit  Ford Houston today
