SHARONVILLE — Ford Motor Co. this morning will offer the first look at production of the new six-speed heavy-duty transmission produced here for its 2011 Ford F-series Super Duty truck.
Ford has invested more than $200 million over the last several years in the production line for the new 6R140 TorqShift automatic transmission that includes several features that enhance its towing capability.
The 2.4 million square-foot Sharonville plant employs 1,500 hourly and salaried employees and produces finished transmissions and components for all Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles sold in North America.
